Top Three Reasons Why You Should Love The Dark Knight

We've all grown up with the tales of Billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne either on the TV sets or on comic books. And this latest installment of the adventures of the caped crusader definitely does it so much justice that this is considered as the most successful Batman movie made to date.

If you haven't seen it yet, get out of your couch, put some jeans on and get to your nearest movie theatre. You are literally missing half your life if you haven't seen The Dark Knight yet. If you need someone to convince you to watch this movie, then consider these few things before you decide not to watch at all.

1. The Dark Knight has more to its story than what meets the eye.

This perhaps, might be something that everyone might agree upon. Both DC and Marvel fans can come to accept that batman definitely has something to bring to the table besides large amounts of money at his disposal and beautiful women. Not to be pointing at anybody though (Cough! Cough! Tony Stark…).

The Dark Knight has an element to it that can rarely be found in other superhero flicks. Batman doesn't just battle the criminals and villains of Gotham city but he battles his inner demons as well. Through this, there is a deeper meaning to this movie other than spectacular explosions and award winning performances. It allows us to have a glimpse of what humanity is capable of doing. This is one quality that can be shared by another highly successful superhero movie, the Spiderman franchise. Uncle Ben was right in saying that with great power comes great responsibility. Though we don't have any superpowers of our own, there is a lot of our morality that we can learn about in such tastefully made movies like these.

2. Heath Ledger's performance as the joker deserves his accolade.

Reviews weren't definitely kidding when they said that Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was definitely spectacular. His version of the Joker allows us to see how dark we can become when a ruthless society decides to leave us out for dead. The Joker is definitely Batman's nemesis despite him having numerous foes to square off within the name of Gotham's peace and safety.

3. We see a side of the Batman that is rarely seen in his movies.

Near the end of the movie we see how unselfish and principled the batman really is. He sacrificed his own good name for the benefit of the people of Gotham City. Harvey Dent in this movie, played by Aaron Eckhart, was considered to be the City's saving grace, it's metaphorical white knight. His corruption through the Joker's hands and his untimely death proved to be another dagger to the heart of Gotham City. We later on get this feel that Gotham's fate is starting to look a little bit bleak without it's knight in shining armor.

Overall, this movie is perhaps one of the best superhero movies ever made. The caped crusader, bless his heart, has definitely captured the hearts and minds everywhere.
