Music is a great big deal to a lot of people. It has brought happiness and joy to millions and perhaps even billions of people around the world. Music does not know any borders or any limits. It touches the hearts and minds of young and old people alike.

Music, should you choose to believe so, has inspired a lot of individuals to strive harder and reach their goals. It has also allowed people to hold on to something and have some glimmer of hope when they think that they are lost. Music can be anything to anyone as it is a big part of a person's life. And it should be in yours too.

1. Music will help you get by the hardest of times.

If you've had your heart broken or failed on one of your subjects, times like these might be the lowest of low points that you might feel in your life. But don't fret. No matter how dark the cloud there's always a silver lining. Some people might regain their hope and their happiness through music. There are a lot of inspirational songs out there like songs from Coldplay and U2. And it doesn't stop there. There are several bands to choose from and you can find one that would suit your situation.

2. It gives words to your emotions.

If you sometimes have trouble finding the right words to describe how you feel, music sometimes help you understand your situation. There are sad songs and happy songs and other songs that plainly just don't seem to make any sense at all. No matter what you feel or think, there always seems to be a fitting song for all of your emotions. There are so many songs in the world that you can make a soundtrack for your entire life without repeating the same song.

3. It pumps you up.

If you exercise often, you might find that music sometimes gives you an energy boost. The right music played for the right activity will definitely make you more active and more energetic. Like if you were working out or going for a jog, listening to your music while performing your exercises will definitely keep you on edge. Even Michael Phelps pumps up with music before his swimming events. You don't need to be an Olympian to realize how important music is to get the right mindset to do certain activities now right?

4. It makes bus and subway rides more bearable.

If you've got a lot of free time on your hands, like on a commute, listening to music via iPod or any other mp3 player might make the trip seem a lot shorter. Long rides might be a bit boring but if you've got your favorite songs to listen to along the way, it may seem quite enjoyable. It's funny how music can put things in a different light. Try it out. Maybe an hour's worth of commuting might seem to be cut by half if you're no longer bored to death.
