Television has revolutionized the way people spend their free time. Instead of just listening to transistor radios to entertain ourselves, we now have the ability to watch and listen to our favorite programs. And with High Definition televisions breaking out, things are just getting better and better for us, the viewers.

There are a lot of TV shows out there, but not all of them are quite as good as they promise. There are a few good shows out there, however, that you might want to watch. Here are a few good names that stand out above the rest.

1. House

There's no other show that's quite like House. With Hugh Laurie at the helm of the show, it's bound to be a very dramatic and entertaining series coupled with a few laughs in between. It is pretty interesting because one also learns a lot from the doctors slash actors in every series. They talk about symptoms of the patients and what disease or sickness it might be, and what procedures should be taken so that they would know what was wrong. Shows such as House give viewers a view on how doctors live with fiction of course but also realistic applications.

2. Crime Scene Investigation: New York, Los Angeles and Miami

These shows are definitely a must see! These are shows that show how the forensics work to solve a crime. It is like “behind the scenes,” but involves the law instead of art (a.k.a. movies, theatre, broadways, etc). These present to the audience that to solve a crime, every minor information and object can be used as evidence to uncover the “unknown” and point to the guilty perpetrator.

3. Amazing Race

This is one of the reality shows that keep the audience adrenalin running. There are different teams that are sent off to several races around the world. You can hate some teams and love others; it is your choice, but you would surely be caught up with every airing of the races. Whoever wins the whole race receives one million dollars and aside from that, in winning every race, the team gets free trips, electronic devices and others. It is a very unpredictable race and you are sure to enjoy every frustration, joy, panic, and other emotions of those in the race. Aside from that you would be able to have a free view of the different places around the world. It is a one package deal: you enjoy a race and see the world all at the same time.

4. Heroes

Whoever here has a love for heroes would surely love this show; even those who don't eventually learn to love them. This show is a story of unique individuals or maybe many call them mutants like those in X-Men. But in this show, the characters are in a mission to save the world. As in most stories, there are antagonists that add suspense to the story so there are many here too. In this story, many mutants struggle to keep their lives normal. These people become the heroes of the world, helping others for the greater good, to save the world.
