What Makes Gossip Girl So Popular Among Viewers?
It's the new hit series that kids and young adults have all been talking about. It's that new air of sexy, intrigue, scandal, and style. And guess what, for a show that's got a pretty girly title, there are actually a lot of guys who follow the story. Why? It doesn't mean you have to be a member of the third sex to appreciate a good series even if it has a title that leans more towards the feminine side.
Actually, there's more to Gossip Girl than just gossip, and some teenage drama that comes along with it. It's actually a pretty good show that could go on for quite a good run. Hey, it might even be as better as the OC – forgive us Adam Brody.
1. The ladies are beautiful.
What's a pretty face without pretty clothes, and a good script right? Well in this series, viewers are lucky enough to see all three in just under an hour. And as a bonus, you get to see all the classy areas of Manhattan as well. But since we're talking about the ladies of the series, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are two of the prettiest girls in this show. It seems like they've got the world on a string while they live their charmed and privileged lives that so many of us can only dream of having. So instead, we take the time every Monday night to visit our good old pals the comfy couch and the widescreen TV and pay tribute to one of our most watched shows – Gossip Girl.
2. The stories are fun and interesting.
If you can get past the whole teenage drama thing affecting the entire series (well, can you blame them? The show's made for TV audiences of that age bracket after all) you'll find it quite amusing to see a pretty good and witty script that allows the actors and actresses to put on a show that's really good that it's worth an hour of your precious time. You'll see our intrepid teenagers venture off into the city with whatever problems and issues they all get tangled up in. Throw a couple of laughs in there, a few good love interests, and the good old good guy versus bad guy bit and you've got yourself some Gossip Girl.
3. It makes us feel young again – well, sort of.
Watching youthful actors and actresses' play out their parts for a drama series that deserve two thumbs up is a lot of fun. Sometimes, the whole youthful vibe rubs off a little bit on us too. It's a little funny how a TV show such as this can make us feel young again. Well not physically perhaps, but it allows us to get in touch with our younger selves that we had somehow traded away for a career and some money in the bank. Not everybody can have a life as good as theirs. And if living vicariously through the show allows us some form of pleasure, then why not.
